“Communicating effectively has been key in making my internship run smoothly. My site supervisor and I meet weekly and use www.gotomeeting.com. The most helpful aspect of meeting this way is the ability of my site supervisor to have her computer screen up. I am doing a lot of work where I need access to certain accounts and need to know where to find things on their website and intranet, so it’s really helpful to be able to see exactly where I can find the information I need to get my assignments done. We also communicate via email during the week as assignments are completed or if I have questions. We also revisit this information during our weekly live meetings. Fortunately for me, my site supervisor has worked with several interns from SJSU, so the communication bugs had already been worked out.”
